Well, we are already planning for next year’s haunted house and are reaching out to you to see what you think we should add, remove or change to make it better in 2010.
We are sticky with the Forest Oak Sanitarium theme and the same basic rooms that we had this year…but, we want to improve upon what we already have. So, tell us what you liked and what you would like to see changed for next year. To help you out…below is a list of the different areas we had, in the order you would have come through them.
1. NURSE’S STATION – the main entrance/waiting area just before you entered THE HALLWAY.
2. THE HALLWAY – a very dark, slightly skewed hallway, designed to throw off your balance and create a long, narrow passageway for us to scare you in.
3. THE SHOWER ROOM – we had a couple of shower heads that fed smoke into this very small room. We already have plans to improve this area GREATLY for next year.
4. THE LABRATORY – this is where the Mad Doc was, performing electroshock therapy on a very decayed corpse.
5. CHILDREN’S WARD – since the kids wanted to roam all over the place, this are ended up being less than impressive than we had planned on…but, hope to remedy that for next year. This is where you had to exit through the hanging baby dolls.
6. THE CEMETERY – yes…we partially filled in the pool with dirt and transformed it into our sunken graveyard. I think we need more tombstones and less decorations…but, it still looked great…at least in my opinion.
7. THE MORGUE – one of the most effective areas and the very end of the attraction. I plan on modifying the embalming table to be a LOT more realistic and may create an actual body cooler prop.
Well, those are the major areas of this year’s haunt. Tell us what you would change or like to see for next year to make it scarier in 2010. Oh, and in case you were wondering…YES, Chuckles the Clown will be back in 2010…but after a slight make-over. I know many of you had fun with him this year!!!
