Well…we used an insane asylum theme this year for our haunt and tried to stick to theme as much as possible…with a few deviations here and there.
My first costume…”The Mad Doc” worked very well, but proved to be a tad to hot and heavy for the Florida climate…even in the midst of fall. So, as I tried to decide what I would do for Halloween night…I noticed one of the clown outfits on the costume rack.
I knew I had a decent clown mask in one of my plastic bins…and the material on the costume seemed light enough to wear all night long without too much trouble. There were two clown outfits and I chose the one that was a little simpler…the other had been made with a fabric that was covered with little pumpkin designs.
So, I donned the costume and mask and found out that a LOT of people are terribly afraid of clowns…of course, this guy isn’t really all that friendly looking…
…and “Chuckles The Clown” was born.
Since we have decided to carry the asylum theme over and just improve upon what we had this year…I am going to bring Chuckles back next year…but, I want to make a few changes. Okay, a total change.
First off, I want to trade in that mask for the Clown mask by SPFX Masks…their mask is SO much more lifelike and offers better facial expressions and the ability to talk to my victims…besides…theirs is just so darned cool!!!

But, with great quality comes a great price and this will be something that will come out of my tax returns this year…that’s for sure, and WELL worth it!!
Next…I wanted to change the costume up a bit and have something a tad bit more evil…the one I wore this year would be great if it was scaled down to children’s size…removed the puff balls off the front…and the kid wore the “Orphanage” mask that I made earlier in the year….THAT would be creepy!
Anyways, for the costume…I am thinking something red and black…somewhat reminiscent of Harley Quinn’s outfit in the Batman cartoons…

Of course…it would have to be modified a bit to look good on someone of my stature…I do not look good in skin tight vinyll…TRUST ME!!! But, perhaps a silk material that was a bit looser would be very comfortable to wear on a balmy fall evening here in northern Hell. I think with that mask…and that costume…next year…I can make a few more people test out their jogging skills.
